About us

The Green Campus Initiative at the University of Peshawar is a comprehensive and forward-thinking program designed to transform the university into a hub of sustainability and environmental responsibility. This initiative seeks to reorient the campus’s operations and culture toward ecological consciousness, resource efficiency, and circular economy principles. By doing so, it aims to minimize environmental impacts, enhance campus resilience, and provide a healthier, more inspiring learning and working environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Our Vision: ReSip

Our vision with this program is to eliminate disposables! We want to create a sustainable and circular ecosystem for a world without single-use packaging. With RESIP reusable cups, and bowls the catering businesses can save costs, avoid single-use waste, become pioneers in sustainability and are also perfectly equipped for the reusable offer requirement. University of Peshawar consumes more than 5 lacs disposable packaging per month – we want to change that and offer catering establishments and their customers a simple, cost-effective and attractive alternative to disposable packaging.
Providing water refill stations, offering incentives for using reusable materials, and reducing the availability of single-use plastics on campus contribute to a circular approach that decreases waste and resource consumption.

Reducing Single-Use Plastics and Promoting Reusable Materials

As part of the reusable revolution approach, the initiative focuses on reducing single-use plastics and promoting reusable alternatives. Plastic waste, especially single-use items like water bottles and food containers, is a significant contributor to pollution and environmental harm. By encouraging the use of reusable water bottles and food containers, the university not only reduces plastic waste but also minimizes the consumption of new resources.
